For patients

Information for patients

Everything about insurance, costs and what to bring to your first consultation.

Statutory insurance

sportorthopaedie.berlin is a private practice. Because we also want to make our expertise available to statutory insured patients, there is the option of an outpatient consultation on a self-pay basis.

The costs of the presentation in the private consultation are not covered by statutory health insurance companies. Billing is based on the official fee schedule for doctors (GOÄ). During the consultation we take a lot of time for you; depending on the effort involved, costs of around €250 – €350 will be incurred. This includes a detailed examination and diagnosis (including ultrasound and evaluation of your imaging) as well as detailed information about your findings and the treatment we propose.

Surgical Treatment

Should a surgical procedure become necessary for those with statutory insurance, this can be performed by Dr. Moser in one of our partner clinics. The costs for the inpatient stay and operation are completely taken over by the statutory health insurance fund.

Private insurance

sportorthopaedie.berlin is a private practice. For patients with private health insurance, we offer both outpatient and inpatient treatment. If surgery is required, it can also be performed directly at one of our partner clinics.

Billing is based on the official German Medical Fee Schedule (GOÄ). This enables transparent and performance-based billing for all medical services provided.

  • Short waiting times for appointments
  • Comprehensive medical consultation
  • State-of-the-art diagnostics and therapy

What to bring

Please bring existing X-ray and MRI images. A written report alone is not sufficient – we assess the images ourselves.

Insurance & billing

Does statutory insurance cover the consultation?

No. The consultation is a private service billed per the GOÄ fee schedule, typically around €250–€350. Inpatient stay and surgery in partner clinics are covered by statutory insurance.

Do I need imaging before my first visit?

An X-ray of the hip in two views is usually needed. Your orthopaedist or GP can arrange it in advance, which lowers costs. We arrange specialised imaging from the practice if required.

Where does surgery take place?

In one of our partner clinics. Dr. Moser operates there himself.

How do I book?

Preferably via Doctolib, alternatively by phone or with the request form on this site.
